Description
The talk will consist of three parts. Part I will include a discussion
about the Hamiltonian formulation of General Relativity in terms of Ashtekar
variables which is the starting point for the quantisation in Loop Quantum
Gravity (LQG). In part II the topic of quantisation will be addressed. In
particular it will be discussed how unique quantisation procedures are,
which assumptions enter into the quantisation of LQG and in what sense these
assumptions differ from the one used for instance in ordinary quantum
mechanics.
Finally, in part III the Hilbert space of LQG will be introduced and
explained how Quantum Einstein Equations can be implemented. As an example
of a geometrical operator the area operator will be discussed.
