Description
We examine the consequences of the assumption that a relativistic jet radiates a significant fraction of its kinetic and/or internal energy. It will be shown that some constraints on the parameters of relativistic jets and their central engines can be obtained, independent on the detail of radiation models. Implications of these constraints will be discussed in the context of Active Galactic Nuclei and Gamma-Ray Bursts.
