The gamma-ray burst outflow: hot or cold?

In the leading internal-external shock model for GRBs and the afterglows, the fireball is baryonic (hot). However, the Poynting flux dominated outflow (i.e., the cold fireball) model is also attractive and is supported by some observation data. In this talk I'll review our current understanding of the physical composition of GRB outflows.
