Description
I will review the arguments leading to the case for a
future linear collider, which will probably be built using ILC
or CLIC technology. Following a quick look at the subsystems of
the machine, I will describe the particular problems to be found
in the interaction region and extraction line, and review the
solutions found to these for both ILC and CLIC technologies.
