Description
Research concerning the behaviour of radon and thoron progeny in outdoor air
is of great importance for a number of medical and geological reasons. This
study investigate the concentrations of three progeny isotopes, 212Pb, 214Pb
and 214Bi, and in particular their correlations with trafic. It is concluded that
neither is there any evident correlation between the diurnal changes in trafic
volume and the diurnal changes in activity concentrations, nor are there any signifi-
cant variations between week-ends and weekdays. Some conclusions about
the correlations between different weather variables and activity concentrations
are drawn, and it is concluded that the most important factor for the concentrations
is whether it is day or night.
