Inference of Hysteretic Vertical and Lateral Forces by Dynamic Force Microscopy

A procedure is presented to infer hysteretic tip-sample interaction forces from frequency modulated atomic force spectroscopy measurements at low temperature. In a second step, the interaction potential is reconstructed, whose gradient yields the complete vectorial forces.
