The possibility to describe both early and late-time Inflation in terms
of slowly rolling scalar fields has tempted cosmologists to search for
models that unify the Inflaton and the Quintessence potentials despite
the large hierarchy in their energy scales. The idea of Radiative
Inflation and Dark Energy (RIDE) introduces quantum corrections to an
Inflaton potential in which the Quintessence field appears as an axion.
This scenario may be constructed invoking extra spatial dimensions and
Supergravity; its predictions are consistent with observational data of
WMAP-7.
