Description
I will briefly summarize our current understanding of the physics
of accretion in astrophysical objects. I will put most attention to
the state-of-the-art hydrodynamical models of advective
accretion disks applicable to observations of thermal spectra of
microquasars and AGN at all luminosities and introduce the xspec
module slimbb, generalizing commonly-used kerrbb to all, even
super Eddington, luminosities. I will also discuss
the most important caveats in the modeling of luminous disks and
present the road map for developing their semi-analytical models.
