From 4d superconformal indices to 3d partition functions

Description
We discuss a recent progress in understanding of dualities for three-dimensional field theories due to the calculation of the superconformal index and partition function. In both cases we get the so-called q-special functions which allow to proof analytically the identities for superconformal indices and partition functions for dual three-dimensional supersymmetric field theories.
It is shown that starting from four-dimensional pair of Seiberg dual theories one can get the whole set of new dualities both for SYM and CS theories in three dimensions using some limits of identity for superconformal indices of four dimensional Seiberg dual field theories to partition functions of three dimensional dual field theories. As an example, we present new dualities for N=2 SYM and CS theories with SP(2N) gauge group and antisymmetric matter.
