Description
A recent paper by Aurell, Mejia-Monasterio, Muratore-Ginanneschi (Phys Rev Lett 106, 250601 (2011)) developed a powerful technique to solve optimal control problems for thermodynamic stochastic functionals. Its key point is to map the stochastic transport problem into the deterministic mass transport and Burgers equations of fluid dynamics. I will show how this technique generalises to the non-isothermal case which is suitable for the study of some stochastic engines and their finite time properties.
