Description
Star formation holds important clues to understand our Universe. From hig-mass quiescent galaxies, forming their massive stars in HII regions, to the efficient starburst galaxies, star formation helps us understand the process of galaxy formation and evolution and the chemical enrichment of the Universe. We present a kinematical study of the Halpha emission line in HII regions in M83 and in a sample of Starburst and Postburst galaxies, in an attempt to understand the trigger of the star formation enhancement and what happens once it is finished.
