The discovery of a Standard Model-like Higgs boson has been the most striking result of the LHC. However, there is so far no evidence of new physics at the TeV-scale, as would be expected by fine-tuning arguments. In this talk I will review the concept of naturalness, discuss implications for model building, and propose a dark matter model that is based on our interpretation of physics at the electroweak scale.

I review a few features of TeV-scale supersymmetry that may not be well described by the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, despite its many parameters. Examples include effective theories with general Higgs sectors, Z' bosons in string models, and "de-sequestering" in flavor physics. The focus is on aspects that could be probed by combinations of future measurements in collider physics and astroparticle physics.
