Description
We are investigating the anomalous dimension of the Konishi operator at strong coupling, where a consistent derivation from first principles is still missing. Commenting on previous approaches, I will motivate and pursue a minisuperspace description, a restriction to and quantization of the relevant phase space only, where as a proof of principle we work in bosonic string theory. Starting from a very simple setup our system reveals a surprisingly involved structure and intriguing features. The final result for the Konishi anomalous dimension deviates from predictions for the full type IIB string, as had to be expected. However, the presented setting is likely to pave the way for the full supersymmetric calculation of the string energies dual to the Konishi as well as longer operators.
