Description

The annual Nordita Winter Schools are research training courses, at which distinguished researchers from around the world lecture on topics at the forefront of theoretical physics, for an audience of Ph.D. students and beginning postdocs. The 2014 school will be in the area of condensed matter physics.

Students will be given an overview of the most important ideas underlying modern condensed matter theory, an introduction to current trends of particular interest, and also the tools required to enter into rapidly developing areas of research. Topics will include strongly correlated electrons, topological states of matter, unconventional superconductivity, and the physics of low-dimensional structures.

The school, to be held at Nordita, Stockholm, Sweden, will run for two weeks, with four hours of lectures per day.

Lecturers

  • David Abergel, Nordita
