My research is about carbonaceous chondrite meteorites, which probably came to earth from the so called C-type asteroids. These meteorites represent the most primitive material in our solar system, and can give us clues about how the planets formed some 4.56 billion years ago. Some types of carbonaceous chondrites have been aqueously altered, and this happened very shortly after the initial condensation and accretion of material in the solar nebula. My research focus on how the composition, structure and distribution of alteration phases within carbonaceous chondrites can help us to better understand the mechanism and time scale of the aqueous system.
