Description
The separation of biotechnologically relevant DNA fragments in microfluidic chips is discussed. After introducing the basic ideas and theoretical concepts, we demonstrate how electrodeless dielectrophoresis in structured microfluidic devices can be utilized to sort DNA fragments. Sorting criteria are, e.g., size, conformation or the binding of proteins to the DNA.
