Description
Nearby star-forming galaxies harbor large populations of star clusters which range in age and mass. Despite decades of observations from the ground and space, it is still not certain if the characteristics of these populations, such as the cluster luminosity and mass functions, and age and size distributions, are universal or galaxy-dependent. I am involved in several projects which intend to characterize the star cluster populations of nearby galaxies using HST imaging. I will discuss recent results from the two spiral galaxies, NGC 2997 and M83, and future directions.
