The aim of the instrumentation physics group is to work in the gap between experimental physics and engineering. We collaborate with experimental physics groups, but limit our participation to the development of new instruments. This concentration of effort makes it easier to develop and maintain useful engineering skills while retaining an active grasp of the relevant physics. In this way we can draw upon experience and insight from other projects to solve new problems. A natural consequence is that we look for general solutions and methodologies which can be carried over to new problems. Presently most of our research projects are collaboration projects with particle physics groups.
The presentation will first touch on methods and tools then present background and technical implementation of our main projects.
