Entanglement entropy in excited states

The Ryu-Takayanagi formula and its covariant generalisation provide a holographic geometrisation of quantum entanglement. Whilst this connection has been studied intensively, much of the discussion has restricted to the vacuum state or a thermal ensemble. In this talk I will study entanglement entropy in excited states. In particular, I will focus on half-BPS states of maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory holographically dual to the regular bubbling solutions of Lin, Lunin and Maldacena.
