Description
Quantum field theory (QFT) is one of the most successful theories in physics. It is able to explain a lot of different phenomena with an amazing accuracy. In this lecture, we are discussing whether there a deeper sense behind the theory and consider the philosophical issues that arise from QFT. Some of the questions we are asking are: What are the fundamental entities of QFT? Are they real? During the lecture, a brief introduction to both ontology and QFT will be given and the issues that are arising when applying ontology to the findings of QFT are discussed.
