Description
The near-extremal limit of charged black holes provides a simple holographic setting to study quantum complexity and operator growth in strongly coupled quantum theories. In the talk, we explore two examples: (1) the late-time rate of change of holographic complexity in Jackiw-Teitelboim theory, a two-dimensional toy model that can be obtained by dimensional reduction from Einstein-Maxwell theory in the near extremal limit, and (2) a refinement of the conjectured holographic correspondence between operator size and bulk radial momentum arising in the context of near-extremal charged black holes.
