HH Cosmo Indirect

Europe/Stockholm

* Luca pointed us to a HH VLQ paper https://arxiv.org/abs/1703.10614 which includes additional LO diagrams that might be relevant when adding an additional jet, and that jet is a top quark. For consistency this will be studied further to see what the impact might be. Luca also volunteered to start looking into a draft, spelling out the sections items for a future publication.

* In connection to the publication draft Stefano stressed the importance of establishing a link between the phase transition and the sensitivity at LHC. We all agreed that the first step in the draft structure would be starting from a proof of concept, or any kind of existence proof, that in a reliable way objectively motivates this connection within the SMEFT parameter space.

* We should try to use common Feyrules models when working on the LHC implementation side. Tom has done validation work on using SMEFTatNLO (currently recommended for LHC work) in Madgraph. Stefano mentioned that he has a former student (Ken Mimasu) as author of that model so it could be useful if we find that something needs to be added.

* In the general structure of the draft we will need to include physically motivated benchmark points that also can be mapped to an EFT parameter region and then further linked to the effective potential. Rikard pointed us as an example to the paper https://arxiv.org/abs/1705.02551.

* Eiliel mentioned that work to establish this connection is ongoing. He reminded us of his talk at Particle Days in Uppsala recently. Also work on HH SMEFT studying in detail the operators containing derivatives on the higgs field is being actively pursued.

* Arnaud has a grant for an ATLAS postdoc to work on HH combination, and he is looking for good candidates already qualified in ATLAS. Please suggest names.

Preliminary data and time for the next meeting is 9/12 9:00.
