Description
Speaker: Roope Uola (Uppsala University). Abstract: May 15th marks 90 years of Einstein’s most cited paper: the EPR paradox. In this talk, the EPR argument and the correspondence it led to between Einstein and Schrödinger are presented. This correspondence leads us naturally to Schrödinger’s formulation of the problem as an action at a distance or “steering”, as he coined the phenomenon. We discuss in detail how steering forms the basis for the modern quantum information formulation of the EPR effect. We also discuss the connection between entanglement and steering, as well as show in detail a mathematical many-to-one connection between the EPR effect and its dual problem of measurement incompatibility.
