DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Ludovico Theo Giorgini (Stockholm University\, Nordi
 ta)\n\nZoom link:  https://stockholmuniversity.zoom.us/j/622224375\nAbstr
act: We investigate the dynamics of a one-dimensional memory-driven bounci
ng droplet confined by a symmetric single-well potential in the high-memor
y regime\, where the dependence of the droplet's current position on its e
ntire past trajectory typically leads to chaotic and unpredictable motion.
Employing the one-dimensional stroboscopic model\, we demonstrate that wh
en the confining potential is sufficiently steep\, the droplet’s dynamic
s transition from chaotic and memory-driven to fully predictable and effec
tively Markovian. In this limit\, the system can be described by a nonauto
nomous ordinary differential equation\, significantly reducing its complex
ity. These results underscore how external constraints can suppress the ch
aotic effects of temporal memory\, providing new insights into the emergen
ce of Markovian and predictable behavior in systems inherently governed by
  history-dependent dynamics.\n \n\nhttps://indico.fysik.su.se/event/9273/
