Wrinling/Blistering of elastic sheet on a substrate

I will discuss ongoing work on the uniaxial compression of a thin elastic sheet atop a substrate. The goal is to predict under which conditions the system transitions from a wrinkled state to a blistered state. A key question is whether or not the weight of the sheet should be taken into account in the region where it is delaminated. I will also explore extensibility, and the relation between the nature of the substrate — liquid or elastic — and the number of blisters.
