DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Prasad Perlekar (TIFR-Hyderabad)\n\nHow does  inert
ia control  stability and turbulence generated in swimmer suspensions? We
will discuss this within the framework of active matter. In particular\,
we highlight a new  instability mechanism in suspensions of self-propelle
d particles that does not involve active stress. Instead\, it is driven b
y a subtle interplay of inertia\, swimmer motility\, and concentration flu
ctuations\, through a crucial time lag between the velocity and the conce
ntration field.  I will also discuss some new results on emergence of clu
 stering in nematode suspension.\n \n \nzoom : https://stockholmuniversit
