Description

Butterflies are amazing in many ways, one of which is being incredibly colorful. Why does color vary so much across species and sometimes even between the sexes, or among individuals of the same sex? To get deep insights into these questions, my lab explores color variation in butterflies in diverse ways. We study how color has evolved across deep time, investigating color change across all of Europes butterflies. We also study these dynamics in more recent time, trying to understand the dynamics behind color variation within a butterflies species. Come to my talk if you want to learn about how some of the latest advances in biology are being used in Stockholm to reveal the mysteries of the butterflies in our backyards.

Note: This event is open to the junior audience only, including undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students, as well as postdocs.
