Description

How astronomy developed in the early modern period after the introduction of the telescope. What where the driving forces behind the development of new observational techniques? Why did Galileo's ideas create such a stir in the Vatican? The eternal question regarding the relation between science and politics. These are some of the themes I will touch upon.
