Description
I will talk about numerical simulations of triggered star formation in expanding shells, comparing the results of Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics and Adaptive Mesh Refinement calculations with the so-called thin-shell model. I will also show simulations of the triggering of star formation by the external irradiation of a turbulent molecular cloud by an O-star. In the second part of my talk, I will present simulations of the effects of momentum- and pressure-driven stellar winds on embedded clusters, focusing on the ability of winds to halt star formation and to disrupt young star clusters.
