Description
Most mathematical models used to describe relaxation processes in open quantum systems are of the Markov type: the evolution is defined by a semigroup of completely positive maps. Introducing models with more realistic dynamics including memory effects has proved difficult and controversial. In this talk I will describe a class of simple models where the non-Markovian properties can be clearly seen, e.g. in graphs of numerical simulations.
