Unlike the inconspicuous Higgs, Dark Matter may well show up early at the LHC. However, the canonical missing energy signature does not really tell us much about the properties of the responsible particle. Could we be fooled, and what checks can be made to make us certain that we have seen THE Dark Matter? In this talk I will discuss some of the difficulties in searches for Dark Mater at the LHC, possible scenarios and the measurement of Dark Matter properties, all from a phenomenological point of view.
