Description

I will present some recent work on the supergravity description of D6-branes wrapped on 2-cycles in Calabi-Yau 2-folds and the lift of these solutions to Calabi-Yau 3-folds. I will discuss some applications of these ideas to AdS/CFT for 4d and 5d gauge theories.
