On some optimization problems in stochastic thermodynamics

Description
We discuss the problems of minimising quantities such as released heat, work and variance of work and exponentials in the work, in controlled diffusion processes. These protocols are of theoretical interest in the view of the recent contributions of Udo Seifert and collaborators, but may also be of some practical interest in the context of optimising the free energy difference estimates through the Jarzynski Equality, given finite number of samples. This is work in progress with Paolo Muratore-Ginanneschi and Carlos Mejia-Monasteiro.
