Description
Studies investigating Autobiographical memories (i.e., personally experienced events) triggered by sensory information have exclusively focused on unimodal retrieval cues (i.e., cues pertaining to one modality). However, from an ecological perspective multimodal cues (i.e., cues pertaining to several modalities) are highly important to investigate. In this presentation I will focus on three studies addressing (a) modelling of the multimodal age distribution of autobiographical memories, (b) temporal integration of audio-visual information, (c) prevalence of sensory information in retrieved autobiographical memories. The overall conclusion is that the unimodal cues are given different weights and as result contribute differently in terms of multimodal processing.
