Iterative Channel Estimation, Detection and Decoding in Large CDMA Systems

Description
A statistical physics inspired framework to analyze iterative systems encountered in wireless communications is presented. The problem of data and channel estimation is solved by using generalized posterior mean estimators that exchange prior information between each other. This multiple access channel is shown to decouple into a set of independent single-user channels via the replica method in the large system limit. With an application of density evolution on the decoupled system, the convergence of the iterative system is tracked in the limit of large code word length.
