We will briefly discuss the most common methods for table-top THz generation using femtosecond lasers. The bulk of the talk will be concerned with the generation of high power THz using optical rectification and frequency-mixing in plasmas. The last part of the talk will be concerned with nonlinear optics in matter at sub-millimeter wavelengths.
