The Odin satellite continues to deliver unique observations both for
aeronomy and astronomy. It is likely that the astronomy part will come
to a conclusion in half a year, which is timely as the next step in the
exploration of the sub-mm region, the Herschel mission, will (probably) be
launched a year later. So, what have we learned from the Odin mission? I
will in my presentation concentrate on the main reason why we proposed
the experiment: to explore the role of water and molecular oxygen in
the interstellar matter, or should I say "in the outer space" as we have
indeed observed comets.
