Internship Report - Numerical studies of optimal protocols in stochastic thermodynamics

The main task of my internship was to program a numerical simulation of Brownian particles moving in a potential which is controlled by a time-dependent protocol. The idea was to find some features of the optimal protocol of the process to get from an initial configuration of the system to a final configuration. In this talk I will present my results for different computed systems and point out some open problems.
