Holography and applications to Condensed Matter systems

In this talk, I will review the basic aspects of the gauge/gravity duality, insisting on the gravitational bulk dual aspects. I will give introductory material on the Anti-de Sitter spacetime, as well as explain the basic holographic dictionary. In the last part of the talk, I will focus on more recent developments where this technology is applied to gravitational duals believed to lie in the same universality class as strongly-coupled Condensed Matter systems, such as high critical temperature superconductors and strange metals.
