Description
In the last few years we have progressed from merely finding Lyman-alpha galaxies at high redshifts to characterizing their physical properties using multi-wavelength observations. We can now talk about their physical sizes, stellar and halo masses, ages, metallicities, and Active Galactic Nuclei fractions. Can we now answer why some (star-forming) galaxies at high redshift show bright Lyman-alpha emission whereas others don't? What is the escape fraction of Lyman-alpha photons? What helps these photons escape?
