Description
Based on known anatomy of mesencephalic-diencephalic projections to the reticulospinal neurons, we have developed a functional model of how these motor centers generate and control basic survival behaviors such as escape, avoidance and approach. Moreover, we suggest a model for how the basal ganglia selects proper behavioral task.
