This is now established that the life of every massive star ends through a violent explosion. In last couple of decades both theories and observational skills had been developed to understand the diversities of these explosions along with their origins and after-effects. In the most common scenario the core of such a star collapses under self-gravity and forms a compact object, while the outer shells are thrown away in the form of a catastrophe, known as Supernova. Here I shall discuss about our general understanding on core-collapse supernovae, recent development in this field and my interest in this subject.
