Description
IceCube’s discovery of a diffuse flux of high energy neutrinos has led to lots of speculation concerning their origin. The data so far present us with a wide array of possibilities. Detection of individual sources in the near future might be possible through the multi-messenger connections between neutrinos, gamma rays, and cosmic rays. Utilizing what we’ve learned so far with IceCube, we are in a good position to design a cost-effective, next-generation neutrino observatory at the South Pole in the coming years.
