Description
Multiscale modeling and simulations have become an important trend in neuroscience. However little has been done to provide a platform to perform multiscale simulations in an efficient and a reliable way. A lack of interoperability between existing models, an application of different physical and mathematical formalisms on different levels of neural organization and an absence of methodology narrows existing frontiers of possibilities. I will present an efficient solution for simulating models that span multiple temporal and spatial scales. In particular an efficient and a reliable method for coupling separate numerical engines will be considered. Analysis of the proposed method will be conducted. The process of building, verification and simulation of a test multiscale system will be discussed.
