Description

In this talk we will present recent results on periodic poling of KTP and KTP isomorphs. We will discuss techniques for on-line monitoring of the domain growth as well as studies of the domain boundaries and their dynamics. This development has made it possible to fabricate nanogratings in bulk crystals, which then were evaluated as electro-optically addressed Bragg gratings. Evidence for induced second order nonlinearities at the ferroelectric domain walls caused by stress-induced electric fields symmetry breaking will also be presented as well as novel techniques to modulate lasers using cascaded nonlinear interactions.
