Description

The evolution of the human species has reached the point, where the question of Life elsewhere in the Universe is not merely ridiculous anymore, but is subjected to scientific scrutiny. Also, to address this question has technologically matured to the point, where it is judged technically feasible and economically acceptable. Currently, the two major space agencies ESA and NASA are planning for the realization of this endeavor. The European mission concept, very similar in scope and design to the American one, is called Darwin and will be described in its scientific context.
