NASA’s new ideas of how to go back to the Moon and on to mars are now beginning to take shape. Informal copies of the Exploration Systems Architecture study are now circulating on the web. This talk will briefly look at the rocket, capsule and lunar lander concepts that will form the basis for bids from industry for development of these systems. How does “Apollo – the sequel” differ from the original “Apollo”? Some answers will be provided. You will also learn two new terms: P(LOC) = probability of Loss of Crew and P(LOM) = probability of Loss of Mission!
