Description
Learning from the comparison of models and observations is, in general, an ill-posed problem.
The presence of
noise, uncertainties and model parameter degeneracies forces us to consider the inference as a probabilistic
problem. Bayesian inference gives us a robust theoretical framework to cope with such complications.
I will present a description of the fundamentals, going from the basic techniques to the most advanced ones,
showing applications in several fields of Astronomy & Astrophysics.
