Description
We discuss Brownian motion in a 2d channel like geometry. In particular the origin of the reflecting boundary conditions is investigated. Using perturbative multiscale methods, an effective 1d representation of the model is derived. Furthermore the effective model is investigated in the context of stochastic thermodynamics.
