Description
Chemistry is the art of transforming one substance into another. Over the last 50 years (the laser age) we have developed exquisite tools such as crossed molecular beam scattering, velocity map imaging and pump-probe spectroscopy to observe and interpret molecular reaction dynamics at the quantum resolved level and on chemical timescales. The next 10 to 15 years will see the development of ways to exploit the quantum nature of matter to manipulate it.
